The amount of carbon dioxide (CO2) in the air in the grow room is one of the factors that restricts how quickly plants grow. As part of their photosynthetic activity, plants breathe in CO2 and exhale oxygen. Fresh air will be drawn into the grow area via a hydroponic intake/extraction system, replenishing the air’s CO2 levels. However, compared to natural levels, the ideal carbon dioxide level for the quickest plant growth is far higher.
